Tyler Perry was born Emmitt Perry, Jr. Tyler started his career 2 decades ago when he wrote and produced many plays. In the mid 2000’s, Tyler Perry began producing films and his first film “Diary of a Mad Black Woman” came out in 2005. That film was produced with a budget of 5 and a half million dollars and went on to make over 50 million at the box office. His next film was a film version of his popular stage play “Madea’s Family Reunion”. That film opened at number 1 at the box office and since then more “Madea” films have been made. “Madea’s Witness Protection” is the newest film in the Madea series and that movie is currently in production.
Since then, Tyler Perry has gone on to produce many very successful projects in both film and television. He was named the highest paid man in the entertainment business for 2011 having earned over 130 million dollars between 2010 and 2011.
Tyler Perry has his own studio and production company and like many studios, he is always on the lookout for new talent. The company has a website setup for information on Tyler Perry auditions and casting calls.
For TV Tyler Perry has the series “Tyler Perry’s House of Payne” which began airing in 2007 and since then has filmed over 100 episodes. In the movie industry, Tyler Perry has the very popular “madea” series of plays, films and videos.

Madea’s Witness Protection is currently in production and should be out either late 2012 or early 2013. Madea’s Witness Protection is another chapter in the series based on Tyler’s Madea character. In Witness Protection, an investment banker and his family are placed in the witness protection program, finding themselves relocated from their posh Connecticut neighborhood to Madea’s southern home.
Tyler Perry is a very busy man and has multiple projects going on at all times.
His projects are always on the lookout for new talent and Tyler Perry has dedicated a page on his website just for information about upcoming casting calls and auditions for his shows. His website states “You can be a star in the next Tyler Perry Studios production”.
To audition for Tyler Perry, you will need to upload a video to the page that his studio has setup for new talent applications. You can find that page here.
On the site, you can also sign up for updates so that you will get contacted when a new opportunity comes along or the company is holding tryouts for a new project in 2013 and 2014.

When I got the news that Tyler Perry had already been doing auditions, I was shocked. This can be a opportunity of a life time. Then I asked myself what do I really have to offer. The only experience I have is daily living. The only training I’ve endured is tough love and that hospitality gets you a long way with patience.
