Every weekend all across the USA girls and even boys prance and parade up and down a stage wearing fake lashes, gobs of makeup, hair extensions and spray on tans. Welcome to the glamorous world of baby beauty queens.
The children and their families participate in the phenomena of child beauty pageants and compete to win titles, tiaras and sometimes even cash. The beauty contests judge the kids on their beauty, personality and costumes. Oh, yes, they have some costumes. The costumes glitter and sparkle, Vegas Style.
TLC’s Toddlers and Tiaras is a reality show that features pageant families and their journey to pageant fame.
The show follows the families through all the preparation for the weekend pageant. The hair appointments, the nail appointments, the makeup, rehearsals, costume selections and coaching sessions. Toddlers and Tiaras goes behind the scenes and spotlights not only the event itself but also all the hard work and preparation that must happen before ever going on stage.
As any hit show these days, Toddlers and Tiaras also follows the dramas taking place back stage as moms interact with other moms all knowing that there is only room at the top for 1. The stage moms fret over every last detail.
The episodes document all the events leading up to the pageant and then the pageantry. At the pageant the judges have the final say in who gets the crown leaving one mom very happy that her child was chosen ‘most beautiful’ and quite a few others a bit sad that their children lost. After the pageant, they plan for next weekend and the preparations begin again.

hi my name is Donna and my 9 year old wants to compeat in toddlers and tiaras soo bad.
We are a pageant family and I would love to get our family on the show. I take my little girl to at least 1 pageant a month and I watch Toddlers and Tiaras all the time. We go through the same type of stuff and I can really relate to the families on Toddlers and Tiaras because it is so much like what we do. I live in Georgia and we have done many beauty competitions all along the East coast. We are a 2nd generation pageant family because my mom had me in beauty pageants when I was a little girl and I absolutely loved the experience and have the greatest memories of those times. I don’t like what some critics say about the show and the experience of beauty pageants because my daughter loves doing it as did I when I was a child.
