Disney Channel Casting Auditions For Kids, Coming Up

The question on many minds is… When is the Disney Casting Call for 2015 and where?

Do you dream of being cast in Disney’s Jessie, Austin & Ally, Dog with a Blog, Liv and Maddie or I Didn’t Do It

Maybe landing a role in Girl Meets World, Kirby Buckets or K.C. Undercover? Well your chance may be coming up soon because the open call event is right around the corner.

Every spring around May, the Disney Channel and Disney XD announce their annual open casting call. Disney holds it’s official auditions only once a year and each year they pick a new city to hold the event in. Last year the Disney Channel auditions were held in the Los Angeles area. It was the first time in years that the event was held in L.A. The location for 2015 has not yet been announced, but the announcement should be coming any day now.

The annual event draws thousands of hopefuls, many coming from out of town or even out of state. The official Disney audition is not for any specific roles, or at least none that are publicized. The event is held more as a general Disney talent search where casting directors meet with kids, teens and their families in hopes of finding that diamond in the rough. These searches are usually done to find new talent and if they like you you may end up getting a guest role on a popular show like Jessie, Austin & Ally, Dog with a Blog, Liv and Maddie or I Didn’t Do It. Sometimes they may even be looking for talent to consider for shows that are still in development.

What to expect at a Disney audition

You can expect to wait in line. The lines will be long as hundreds or thousands of kids all want to tryout. While waiting in line, the kids will get a monologue to memorize. You can see a sample of a Disney audition script here. The lines are usually pretty short and kids will be asked to read them in front of the casting directors when their turn finally comes up. Since there are tons of kids and teens waiting their turn to try out to be a Disney star, the actual auditions are quite short, maybe a minute or so. Basically, you will not have a lot of time to impress the judges and you need to nail it on your first try because there will not be any time for a redo.

Don’t expect to be able to chit chat or ask too many questions. The casting directors at the event will be very busy and will most likely not have anytime to answer questions from every family that comes in front of them.

Disney doesn’t normally give a huge amount of notice before the event. It is common for them to announce the date and location of their casting call about 2 weeks prior to the event. So keep an eye out for the announcement because it is coming up real soon. As always, the official Disney Channel auditions are free of charge. The only cost to talent may be the parking.

I always wanted to act ever since I was 3 years old or younger, so this would be cool. I have red hair and hazel eyes. I have freckles and I am 10 years old. I can be in one show, in the background or even the main character, just saying. I know how to sing and dance. I could be in a movie or a short model.

  2. Tatiana

Hi my name is Tatiana. I’m 11 and I sing at my church a lot. They say I’m a diamond in the rough, it was my dream to act since I was 5. I can sing, dance, song write, act and model. I’ve been trying to look for real audition websites and I think I found one thanx and p.s. don’t forget to post the date and location as soon soon soon as possible.

My son Aidan who is 10 years-old would love the opportunity to audition for Disney. He has been in shows for his community theatre and is ready to try some new things. He has quite a passion for acting, especially comedic acting. His Agent has sent him on auditions for commercials, TV, and movies. As a 10 year-old he knows just getting opportunities to audition gives him more experience. Also, his motto, “Good things come to those who wait.”

  4. Lauren

My name is Lauren. I’m 15 and I would love to be cast for Disney Channel. It has always been a dream to work with the Disney Channel cast and has been mine since I was 8….. I’m not just saying that I totally mean it, I’m a huge fan of Disney and even now that I’m 25, I still watch it so this would be a grey opportunity to be able to live my dream.
