Juilliard is a school for the performing arts, Drama, Dance and Music.

New York city boasts some of the best performing arts schools in the U.S. Among those is the very well known Juilliard School.

Juilliard is well known for its drama and music sections. Acceptance into their programs will usually require an audition process. The school accepts a small percentage of applicants (numbers are below) This year 2011, only 5.5% of applicants were accepted.

The Juilliard School, located at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York City, United States, is a performing arts conservatory which was established in 1905. It is informally identified as simply “Juilliard,” and trains about 800 undergraduate and graduate students in dance, drama, and music. Juilliard is considered one of the most prestigious performing arts conservatories in the world.

In 2007, the school received 2,138 applications for admission, of which 162 were admitted for a 7.58% acceptance rate. In the fall semester of 2009, the school had an 8.0% acceptance rate. In 2011, the school accepted only 5.5% of applicants.
