New Disney Original Movie and TV show just announced
Disney will be having auditions very soon for actors in their new show “Descendants“. The new Disney Channel series is actually a throw back into something old… The old Disney stories that have been told to kids for decades.
Disney will begin casting for Descendants in 2014 and the show should be going into production in 2014 for a 2015 airing. “Descendants will be a a live-action sitcom that will bring to life the descendants of Disney’s classic characters from Beauty and the Beast, 101 Dalmatians, Snow White and many other stories.
“Descendants” is going to be brought to us by Kenny Ortega (High School Musical) with the show melting together the old and the new. The show will be about the next generation of Disney classic characters. By next generation, I mean literally. The shows cast will feature the children of famous Disney shows. We will see the children of Beauty and The King (The Beast), Snow White, Mulan, Sleeping Beauty, Cruela Deville, The Evil Queen and others.
The show will take place in a new kingdom where the new cast of the show lives and goes to school together. Of course there will be some good and some evil descendants in the show and we would love to see the casting call for that.
The show will play on good vs. evil with a new twist as I would assume not all of the villains descendants will be evil and most likely not all of the Disney heroes offspring will be good. Or maybe they will, guess we will have to wait until more information is released to find out.
Disney Channel’s Gary Marsh, who is President and Chief Creative Officer of Disney Channel was quoted as saying that when it came to this new show, they “mined Disney’s treasure trove of stories and developed a new, comedic approach to the fabled characters everyone knows and loves. The result is a modern and unexpected re-interpretation of classic heritage characters utilizing contemporary, relatable settings and themes.”
The story begins when the son of Belle and the Beast allows the kids of the villains, who have been kinda exiled on an island, attend school with the children of such classic heroes as Snow White. The villainous offspring will need to make some decisions and figure out which path to follow… the good or evil.
Casting calls should be going out to agents right now with the breakdowns of the various roles to be cast. There already are reports that Liv and Maddie star, Dove Cameron has grabbed one of the available roles. Who do you think should be cast for the other coveted spots in this very creative spin on the classics we all love? Audition and breakdown information suggests that some of the open roles include villainous descendants Carlos, Mal, Evvie and Jay.
The casting directors at Disney are aiming to start production on the live action film in the beginning of spring and are now looking for male and female actors of all ages for several extra and stand in roles. On top of the new show, Disney has also announced that a “Descendants” movie would also be coming out in 2015! Yes, casting is underway, High School Musical’s casting directors Natalie Hart and Jason La Padura are at the helm for this production. The show and the new Disney Original movie will hopefully premiere in 2015!

Hello, my name is Alondra Villanueva. I am 5 feet and 3 inches tall and am 18 years old. I have dark wavy hair that goes all the way down my spine to the back of my knees almost and honey brown eyes. I also have small lips and can kind of do a half smirk when I smile. I am Hispanic and I grew up talking in both English and Spanish.
