The following are audition tips from Disney. These are the audition tips they give for performers that will be auditioning in front of the casting directors that cast the Disney shows, Disney Cruise Lines, Disney Resort Shows and their international productions.
These are also great general audition tips for any audition you may be going on.
Be on time
Remember that your audition begins even before you arrive! Be sure to plan enough preparation and travel time for your audition. We can’t stress enough how important it is to arrive on-time to your audition… and in most cases this means at least 15 minutes before your scheduled audition time. Being late, no matter the reason, can negatively affect your audition, or prevent you from being seen altogether.
Headshot & Resume
No matter what kind of role you’re auditioning for, it’s a good idea to have a Headshot and Resume on hand.
Good quality photos on standard letter size paper are best. Make sure the photo you use is representative of the way you look now. If you change your appearance in any way, be sure to update your headshot. As you choose a photo, remember that your headshot is the calling card you leave behind for the Disney Casting team to remember you. Make sure it’s the best possible representation of who you are.
Keep your resume to one page and list your most recent experience and accomplishments. Don’t worry if you have limited experience.
Affix your resume securely to the back of your headshot, or have it printed directly on the back. Also, remember that we’ll need to keep the photo & resume.
I am 17 years old and I would really love to be on Disney. I rap, act, and I’m a very good basketball player. I haven’t had any experience but I have always thought acting looked fun and you have to work very hard. I would love to be on one of my favorite shows like Kickin it, Jessie, Lab rats and etc. I would like to be called in for an audition to do one of those or any Disney show because Disney is my favorite station.

Hi Disney Channel producers, directors, or casting directors!! My name is Olivia and I am 13 years old. I would love to be apart of yet another, Disney Channel masterpiece. To tell you a little about my appearance… I have dark brown hair and brown eyes. I’m 5 foot 2 and I weigh 102 pounds. My skin is light. Now to tell you about my overall personality and hobbies… I have a pretty bubbly personality but “I can completely change that if I’m given the role.”-Tony (my acting teacher) I do take acting classes at a place called Stage Right and I have been doing this for almost 6 months. I also enjoy doing plays and musicals in the Summer at a place called Apple Hill Playhouse. I was featured in the Enchanted Sleeping Beauty as a Good Pink Witch. I loved being in an environment like that. The costumes, scripts, even the makeup and waking up at 6 in the morning to do that for a week. It was something I just loved to do. Aside from acting, I also love to sing. I sing in my church choir and at a chorus group in school. I’ve done a few solos at my church as well.
